WHO AM I


Hi! My name is Bas. I am a freelance Sound Designer from the Netherlands.

Graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2021.

I have a huge passion for sound and its creative usage in film.

It is my dream to work on many amazing projects in the future!

I am available as a dialogue editor, sound effects editor and/or sound mixer. My home studio is equipped for both stereo and 5.1 surround work.

EXPERIENCES


I started my Sound Design journey by getting accepted at the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam. During this study I learned all the important skills such as using a DAW, how to record high quality sound, experience a film set and maybe the most important thing of all; how we can apply sound to enhance a story, and get an emotional reaction out of the audience.


GAME AUDIO DESIGNER & COMPOSER

Tidbits Play | 2019 - now

My first project that did not involve working on  film. For this project I am the Lead Sound Designer for a game called 'Tracks of Thought'. Next to all the SFX I also created some music for the game.


LEAD SOUND DESIGNER

Studio Taka | 2020 - now

Lead Sound Designer at Studio Taka,

doing sound for motion comics and overseeing the sound team.


SOUND DESIGN BACHELOR (Voltijd, HBO)

Nederlandse Filmacademie | 2017 - 2021

After the selection process I got accepted to follow the Sound Design course at the NFA. Worked on multipe student short-films.

Graduated in 2021.


INTERNSHIP 

Studio Vermaas | July 2020 - Okt 2020

Internship at audio post-production Studio Vermaas. Mostly assisting in creating all SFX and creature voice for the feature film DRAGEVOKTERENS JUL (2020) among others.


SOUND EDITOR, STUDIO ASSISTANT 

Studio Vermaas | Sept 2021 - now

I currently work part-time as a SFX editor and all-round Studio Assistant at Studio Vermaas in Amsterdam. Working on Dutch and international feature-films and TV series.
